Sewing Clothes

I started sewing clothes when I was a sophomore in college.  I took a clothing construction class, and then a class all about different textiles and fabrics used.  I started sewing my own clothes.  I remember buying patterns and taking them home to sew them up.  Everything was going great until I got really frustrated with this item of clothing. I had to have my husband come finish it for me because I couldn’t bring myself to doing it. That’s when I took a break from sewing clothing.  I then started sewing baby blankets and then I got brave and whipped up a minky quilt, which is very slippery fabric and very hard to sew with.  But to date its one of our favorites.

My love for sewing came back and I began making my daughters Halloween costumes.  The first year she was Pebbles, 2nd year she was a Deer, 3rd year and Indian, and this year she was Jasmine and my other daughter was Abu.

The costumes got me excited to start making things again.  I have made my daughters Easter and Christmas dresses the last few years. And now I have started my own business KC Sews, sewing clothes for babies and toddlers.
